I SPEAK FOR MYSELF

The hijab which is the veil that Muslim women  wear is a very serious subject when discussing Muslim women stereotype. It is an issue of conversation whether they were it or not. Some of the stories in this book describe their experiences wearing the veil in America and the reactions if they do or do not. A lot of the book discusses about "being saved". It is a typical misconception that Muslim women want to be saved. Several stories in the book go into detail about how they do not need to be saved nor want people to think that. The media portrays images that are not accurate of the Muslim women nor the Muslim culture.

This video is an example of how the United States is an extremely Islamophobic country that has leaders who have these view points. This type of media is the type of media that Muslim Media Watch tries to stand up against.
